Dunnellon- Born Oct. 20, 1932, passed in her home on Sept. 9, 2016 of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert Fredrik Rauch, who passed on Dec. 16, 2014 of natural causes. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Harry Albert Sheaffer and 2 grandchildren.

She was daughter of Vern Albert and Clara Lucille Sheaffer, born in Peoria, IL. He was son of Bernard Hill Rauch and Helen J Rauch, born in Canton, IL.

Married on Aug. 5, 1951, they lived in Kaneohe, HI during his military service as a Marine Corps Sergeant aircraft machinist during the early years of their marriage during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, they returned to the Peoria, IL area, where he worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 37 years. During their life together they were blessed by and are survived by 3 children: Catherine Sue (Bruce) Leuthold, Carl Allen Rauch, and Harry William Rauch, 3 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Their lives were filled with the enjoyment of camping, bowling, black powder reenactments, ham radio, musical chorus while in Illinois. In May of 2003, they moved to Dunnellon, FL and enjoyed bowling and church together. Both attended Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon.

Betty was an avid bowler, belonging to the Citrus County 500 Club and several leagues. She also was a member of the local Red Hat Club.

A joint memorial service will be officiated for them by Pastor Rex Carringer at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon, FL at 3:30pm Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016.
