Darlene Dora Adams, 75, died on Sunday morning, January 7, 2018 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto. She was born in Minneapolis, MN but moved around to different states and ended up in Tampa where she met her husband forty three years ago, and eventually moving to Dunnellon in 2006 from Lakeland. Darlene was the daughter to the late William and Dora Thornton. She retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Woodland Terrace Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Dunnellon. Darlene truly enjoyed taking care of people. She enjoyed running especially 5k’s with her husband. Darlene  will be dearly missed by her family and friends at Grandview  Church  in Dunnellon.

She is survived by her husband of 43yrs., Gerald Adams, Dunnellon; her son Benjamin Lee Whisenhunt and his wife Ly of Coppers Cove, TX; her daughters, Jeannie Scally, Dunnellon, Teirra Sayer, Hernando, FL, Monica Tucker, Ocala, FL; her brothers, Charles Thornton and his wife Mavis of Valrico, FL, Mike Thornton and is wife Annie of Zephryhills, FL; her eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Darlene is preceded in death by her two sisters.
