Dorothy Schwartz, 90, died on Sunday, July 17, 2016 in Ocala, FL. She was born in Manhatten, NY to the late Edward and Anna (Ellis) McGee. Dorothy lived in Dayton, NJ for thirty years and in 1988 retired and made home in Rainbow Springs. Her career started in 1945 at Squibb where she was a lab tech and did cancer research. She later married Edward Schwartz who precedes her in death. Dorothy belonged to the American Legion as part of the auxiliary. She was also a part of Dunnellon’s Historical Society at the Train Depot, running the gift shop. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Dorothy Vinson and her husband, Don of Tarpon Springs, Carol Davis and her husband Chris of Ocala and one grandson Coleton of Ocala.
Dorothy’s family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 20., 2016 at 10:00 AM at Roberts Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
