Edwin Goethe Lybass, 53, passed away July 3, 2013 at his home in Delray Beach, FL. Mr. Lybass was born on September 19, 1959. He grew up in Jacksonville where he was a graduate of The Bolles School and Jacksonville University. He received a Master's degree in City Planning and Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Mr. Lybass worked for several years as a City Planner in Boca Raton and recently had been a consultant in real estate and land use planning. He was an avid reader, sports enthusiast (especially the Florida Gators), world traveler and artist. His greatest joy was time spent with family and friends and was blessed with lifelong friendships.
Mr. Lybass was predeceased by his mother, Barbara S. Clothier and uncles, J.T. Goethe and E.E. Goethe. He is survived by his father and stepmother, James H. and Joh-Nana Lybass of Dunnellon, sisters Cynthia L. Porter (David) of Dunnellon, Pamela L. Allen (Ruben) of Jacksonville and Susan L. Beatty of Jacksonville. He is also survived by an aunt, Oregon E. Lybass of Jacksonville, FL and Waynesville NC, as well as uncles Dr. and Mrs. Tillinghast G. Lybass of North Palm Beach, FL and Thomas M. Lybass of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 1:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Mr. Lybass' memory.
