Robert Allen Carter (Bob), 87, passed away peacefully at Legacy House Hospice, Ocala, FL on June 7, 2017. Bob was born on December 20, 1929 to the late Lester and Edith Curtis Carter in St Paul, MN.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Marcella Carter Collins and his first wife Joan Rundle Carter. Bob is survived by his loving wife Ann of 30 years, his children Kathleen (Jim) Tolar of Mesa, AZ, Kristin (Mark) LaScala of Lisle, IL and Kevin (Jennifer) Bates of Plainfield, IL. Also surviving are eight grandchildren Elizabeth (Jason) Newlin, Sarah (John Huckelberry) Tolar, Robert (Erin) Tolar, Elizabeth and Joseph LaScala, Keegan, Carson and Mckenzie Bates; and seven great grandchildren Bennett Tolar, Gray and Jonas Newlin, Colby and Gus Huckelberry, Henry and Jillian Tolar.

Bob grew up in St Paul, MN attended St Bernard’s grammar school and St Paul Public High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy, served at Point Mugu, CA and was discharged honorably as an air traffic controller. He eventually became a team Supervisor at the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center in Aurora, Illinois. He retired in 1984 after 32 years of service.

Bob enjoyed playing football, baseball and skiing as a young man. He later became an avid golfer and ultimately in his retirement raised horses, playing polo as well as breeding and caring for his horses.
