Lounell “Sally” Morris Waugh, of Dunnellon, Florida died on January 5, 2018, at the age of 100 years old, at West Marion Hospital in Ocala. She was born on July 13, 1917 to Clayton and Aleph Morris in Pearson, Georgia, where she graduated from high school in 1934. She graduated from the University of Georgia – College of Pharmacy in 1939. While working as a pharmacist in Nashville, Georgia, she met and married Dr. William C. Waugh, M.D., a young physician. She married Dr. Waugh on the 9th day of January, 1941. They were married in Pearson, Georgia by Dr. Waugh’s father, Rev. B. H. Waugh. “Sally” and Dr. Waugh had 4 children and moved to Dunnellon, Florida in 1952. Sally worked full time at Bitting’s Pharmacy in Ocala for 15 years, and returned to work part time until the age of 82 because of her love of pharmacy. There have been several pharmacists in the family including: Sally’s father, brother, son, son-in-law, and her great-granddaughter who just started pharmacy school at the University of Florida in August of 2017. Sally is especially known for her great love of God, and has been a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Dunnellon for 62 years. Her love for family, friends, University of Georgia, and Atlanta Braves has never wavered. Her legacy includes 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, William C. Waugh V.

Visitation will be held at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon on Friday, January 12th from 5pm-7pm. A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Dunnellon on Saturday, January 13th at 11am. Memorial Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Dunnellon.
