Mrs. Shirley Ann Davey, 81, of Dunnellon, passed into the Lord's arms on September 29, 2017 at Legacy Hospice House in Ocala.  Born in Monclo, WV, she moved to Dunnellon  in 1994, coming here from Murphy, NC.

A retired elementary school teacher, Mrs. Davey was active in the Dunnellon Community.  She was a member of Riverland Baptist Church, the Ladies of Leisure Exercise Group, and was a former Queen of the Sassy Hat Ladies of the Red Hat Society.  She founded the Faith Baptist Christian School in Spring Hill, FL, and also founded Noah’s Christian Academy in Dunnellon.

 Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her husband Stephen H. Davey, daughter Claudia Quinliven, 2 grandsons, Stephen Mark Davey, and Michael Scott Williams, and several nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her daughters Elizabeth Davey, Karen Klein, Cynthia Davey, Karen Williams, Cheryl Mott, her sons James Parsons, Wesley Parsons, Jeffrey Davey, Steven Davey and Craig Davey, 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 3 great- great- grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Monday October 2, 2017 at Riverland Baptist Church, Highway 41 North in Dunnellon, with Pastor Rex Carringer officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Riverland Baptist Academy in remembrance of Mrs. Shirley Davey.
