I had the pleasure of meeting Shirley through my friend Janet Johnson. I got to go white water rafting and visit some friends of Shirley's in North Carolina. We had a good time. We got together for special occasions at Janet's house and always had nice visits together. There was also one crucial time in my life where my dog got out of the yard and went missing. Shirley drove all around my neighborhood to help me look. At that time, she barely, knew me. She was so kind, so helpful to take the time to help me.
I will remember Shirley as a beautiful loving woman who had a great spirit and heart. RIP Shirley. Love ya always. My deepest synpathies to all the family.

Shirley, You called me and said let's have lunch. We sat and talked like we had just seen each other yesterday instead of years. As we talked you gave me comfort on mother passing and talked of me trying to take care of dad. That was one of the things about you that I loved always looking to offer strength and kind words. I enjoyed your pictures and adventurers and finding new places to go. You will be missed. By the way we got an inch of rain yesterday. Just to let you know.
