Dunnellon- William J. Rocchio, 70, died on January 14, 2017 at Monroe Regional Medical Center. He leaves behind his wife of 49yrs, Martha A. Rocchio, Dunnellon; his son William J. Rocchio, Jr. (Kathy), Attleboro, MA; his daughter, Stephanie L. Cranston (Timothy), Citra, FL; his sisters, Marie Ann DiGennaro (Richard), HI, Sandra J. Palazzo (Michael), Bradenton, FL and Victoria Lawrence (William), Mansfield, MA; his sister in law Judith Rocchio,North Kingstown, RI; his grandchildren, Vinnie and Tyler Rocchio and Jaxon Cranston and numerous of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Julio E. Rocchio, Jr.

He was born  June 27, 1946 in Providence,RI to the late Giulio E. and Victoria M. (Carnevale) Rocchio. William was raised in Cranston, RI. He graduated from Cranston East High School in 1964 and then entered the military serving our country with the United States Air Force. In 1968, he married Martha and they made their home in Attleboro raising their two children. During William’s career, he worked as a pressman for the Providence Journal, the Roto-Gravure and the Denver Post in which he retired from in 2008. After retirement, William and his wife moved to Florida. He was Catholic by faith, a member of the Moose Lodge #2308 in Dunnellon, a  member of the American Legion Post# 0400 in Orlando and a lifetime member of the N.R.A. William enjoyed playing cards especially poker nights on Tuesday with the guys, but most importantly family gatherings.

Memorial Services celebrating William’s life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave. Dunnellon, FL 34432 at 3:00 PM. A Memorial Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
