Larry Dale Walter, 77, of Ocala, FL, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2024.
Larry was born July 3, 1946, to Raymond Walter Sr. and Helen (Hibbs) Walter in Alton, IL. After graduating from Alton High School in 1964, he went on to attend Southern Illinios University of Edwardsville, but shortly after was drafted into the Army. He was sent to South Korea as a clerk typist during the Vietnam War.
Larry worked for many years at Conagra Flour Mill in Alton, IL, and had many interesting hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising aquarium fish, woodworking, gardening, raising and hatching chickens, caring for his houseplants with his green thumb, taking Sunday drives, and popping a fresh bowl of popcorn. His enthusiasm for learning new things will surely be missed.
On Jan 25, 1969, Larry married Susan (Hoering), and they had four children; Melinda (Donald) Partridge, Steven Walter, Jill (Shane) Wool, and Cari (Richard) Laramee.
Larry later met Patricia Elizabeth (Deas) Brass of Ocala, FL, and got remarried on July 6, 2020. They enjoyed their time together watching movies, playing spades, feeding wildlife, and taking care of their animals. His absence will be hard as they shared many laughs and good times together.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond Walter Jr., and his beloved grandson Gavin Laramee.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Walter; his children, mentioned above, his step-son Michael (Debra) Angel, and his lovely grandchildren; Aschley (Nick) Ottinger, Jenni (Michael) Nanney,David Walter, Jonah Wool, Emmett Laramee, Danielle Marinelli (Travis), Michael Angel Jr, Robert Angel, and Rebecca Angel. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Audrey, Cayden, Averi, Hunter, Ryder, Nathaniel, and Joshua.
The memorial service is scheduled for Monday, March 18, 2024, at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon. The gathering will commence at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am.Condolences for the family can be left at www.robertsofdunnellon.com.
