Raymond "Ray Roll" Avizinis Obituary

Formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, Raymond “Ray Roll” P. Avizinis, 67, Baptized Roman Catholic, died on December 6, 2018 at his brother’s residence in Dunnellon,FL while under the care of Hospice of Marion County following a lengthy illness with his family by his side. He was born into this life on October 3, 1951 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a 1969 graduate of North Kingstown High School . Ray moved to Florida in 1997 to be closer to his family. He was a self-employed artisan who helped many people in building or fixing things. “Ray Roll” was also a musician who played in a band in Rhode Island, a culinary chef, and mechanic who was formerly employed with the Iron Horse Stables in Rhode Island. He also enjoyed boating, spending many hours on the water. Ray had a big heart who loved to help people, and he truly enjoyed spending time with his family, as he would quote “Families First”. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all his family and friends.  May his soul rest in Eternal Peace.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter P. Avizinis and his brother Leo Avizinis.

Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Valeria (Stonis) Avizinis, Dunnellon; his brothers, Paul Avizinis(Matilda), Dunnellon,FL and Matthew Avizinis(Agnieszka), Gainesville, FL; his sisters, Ann Humes(Philip), St. Simon, Island, GA, Rose Pendergraft(Stewart), Ocala, FL, Teresa Welch(Joseph), Gainesville, FL, and sister-in-law Lee Avizinis, Jacksonville, FL.

A Funeral Mass and scattering of his cremated remains will be held at the convenience of his family.
