Victor L. Kent, Dunnellon, Florida, (formerly of Sherman, Cuba, and Hinsdale, NY) passed on August 18, 2019, surrounded by loving family. Vic was born on April 22, 1932 to Lee & Leora Kent and was predeceased by them, brother Donald, and grandsons Kyle J Kent & Nathaniel J. Phillips. He is survived by Marilyn, his life-long love and wife of 68+ years. Vic is also survived by sons Mark (Sandra), Muray (Marianne), and Marlon (Kim); daughters Jan (Ronald) Neal and Julie (Timothy) Phillips; 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; sister Bonnie Corbett.
Vic graduated from Hinsdale Central School and from Reppert Auctioneering School. A top auctioneer in the cattle and auto businesses for many years, Vic was also well known for his great love of horses. He was very active in the draft horse club in Florida and the State Line Draft Horse Club of Western New York and drove his Percherons in many shows from New York State to Florida. In addition, Vic & Marilyn enjoyed giving wagon rides at festivals and parades, meeting people from all over. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lions Club International.
Memorial services celebrating Victor’s life will take place at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 3:00 PM.
