Thomas “Tom” W. Mazur, 70, died in the early morning hours of April 30, 2018 while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Tom was born in Rome, NY. He was the son of the late Felix and Mildred (Urtz) Mazur. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and was trained to be in the Special Forces (Green Berets) in the Vietnam War serving our country up until 1969. In 1968, Tom married Barbara Mazur and they made their home in NY. He retired with ONEIDA Limited Company in 2004 and decided to move to the sunshine state with Barbara enjoying the fruits of their labor. Tom was active in the Dunnellon Masonic Lodge 136 and became a Worshipful Master. He was also a member and chaplain with the VFW 4864, Ed Penno Post in Citrus Springs and the AMVETS. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing. Tom will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, John Mazur.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of fifty years; his sister, Joyce Peck, Vernon, NY; his daughter, Melissa Towne and her husband, Jeff and their daughter, Rylie, San Francisco, CA.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Community Congregational Christian Church: 9220 N. Citrus Springs Blvd., Citrus Springs,FL 34433. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 PM with full military honors at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell.
