Adrian Kordon

July 9, 1940 — October 10, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Adrian Kordon, who left her earthly existence at home in Dunnellon, Florida on October 10, 2024.  Born on July 9, 1940 in "da" Bronx, to Stanley and Frances Abramson, she was also a loving sister to her late brother, Donald.

Adrian moved to Long Island and met Peter, her husband of nearly 63 years in 1959 at a dude ranch over “a Coke and a Smile” and their love affair began. Adrian raised her family in Westbury, New York and worked for the local school district and the Nassau County Police Department before retiring to Florida.  She led an active and enriching life filled with love, laughter, word games, books and movies. Adrian treasured time she spent with family, adored her grandchildren, loved traveling, particularly cruising, gambling, and playing mah-jongg with her very dear friends and neighbors, as well as trips to Las Vegas with her bestie, Pearl and of course, her love of chocolate and jewelry was legendary.

Adrian's memory and sense of humor will be cherished and kept alive by those who knew and loved her best including her husband, Peter and her children, daughter, Stacey and son-in-law, Eric Kassor; her son Lawrence Kordon and daughter-in-law, Beth and daughter, Stephanie and son-in-law, Joseph Artiaco.  Her grandchildren were so fortunate to have her in their lives into adulthood. Grandma Adrian will be deeply missed by Laurel Kassor; Michael Artiaco; Sarah Kordon-Flores and Trevor Flores; Matthew Kordon; Jillian and Jakob Samuels; and Meredith Artiaco. Additionally, she is survived by her sister-in-law and friend, Carol Abramson-Nagel, a special niece Kelly Abramson Sjursen; many loving family pets over the decades and incredible friends throughout her lifetime.

Memorial contributions would be welcome at any local animal shelter, spay/neuter clinic or animal humane society.
