Alexander "A.T." Thomas

A.T. Thomas, III of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 with family by his side.

A.T. was born in Ocala, FL on January 28th, 1938, to the late A.T. Thomas, Jr. and Violet Jones Thomas.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Rhoda Thomas Walden and his wife of 54 years, Suzanne Stubblebine Thomas.

A.T. graduated from Ocala High School in 1956 and immediately joined the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S Saratoga.  He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Engineering.  He worked in engineering and management for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, Eastern Airlines, and Seaboard World Airlines in Atlanta, Miami and New York.  He moved back to Ocala in 1974 to help create several businesses and worked in commercial real estate.  He loved history, traveling and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his two sons Alec (Julie) Thomas of Ocala and Rob (Tanya) Thomas of Fleming Island, FL; grandchildren, Ashton, Chase, Benjamin, Sydney and Carter; sisters, Diane (Michael) Koontz and Meta (Bill) Reese.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
