Alice M. Deperna

Alice Marie DePerna, 87, died on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in Ocala, FL. She was born on January 24, 1938 in New York City to the late Alice Josephine Dunn and John Baptiste Piazza of New York City. Alice attended public school 132 in Manhattan and part of High School in the Bronx at Walton High from 1951-1953, then moved to Tenafly, NJ and graduated from Tenafly High School in 1955. She married in 1956 to the late Frank J. Ertle. Later in life, 1982, she was married to the late Gerard DePerna in Sea Girt, New Jersey. Alice was a graduate of Ocean County College of May 1987 in which she excelled maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She was a member of the International Honor Society PHI THETA KAPPA. Alice and her late husband, Gerard moved to Dunnellon, Florida in 1998 in where they made their home after her retirement from the New Jersey State Police Training Center in Sea Girt, New Jersey. She attended the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Dunnellon.

Alice leaves behind her son, John F. Ertle and his wife, Barbara, Toms River, NJ, and her daughter, Alice Marie Walsh (Ertle) and her husband, Keith ,Gulfport, FL; brother John; niece, Jennifer; nephew, John; her grandchildren, Alison Ertle Isenberg and Mark, St. Augustine, FL,  Andrew Ertle and his wife, Sara of Moscow, Idaho, and F. Jordan Walsh of Gulfport, FL.

Memorial services will be held on  Friday, August 1, 2025, 11:00 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Advent: 11251 SW Hwy 484 in Dunnellon, FL. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be held at a later date at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, NY.

Her family prefers no flowers, instead please make donations to a charity of choice.
