Alice Miller of Dunnellon, Florida, died Sept. 30, 2020, at the age of 75. She was born Oct. 1, 1944, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
Alice moved to the Orlando area at a young age, later graduating from Boone High School in 1962. It was not long after she would be introduced to Art Miller, who would become her devoted husband of 55 years. After years of marriage, consideration and prayers, they received their first son, Christopher. Afterwhile, they relocated to Dunnellon in 1971. It was then, with a grateful heart, their family of three grew into four as they were blessed with their daughter, Kelly. Years later, God blessed their little family with a second son, Patrick, and several years following with another daughter, Deborah.
Alice was active in the Dunnellon community through various opportunities such as being a dispatcher at the Dunnellon Police Department in the 1970s, then later working with the local HAM radio clubs, volunteering at her children’s events at the Dunnellon schools, partnering with the Chamber of Commerce, and being involved in several Dunnellon historical preservation projects and city events. She pursued real estate in the Hills of Ocala for a brief season. It wasn’t until she finally found her place at the Riverland News where she retired after a decade of service. Alice enjoyed her retirement spending time with her husband, and becoming an inspiring grandma to her ever-growing family.
To know Alice, she was an exquisite person to be around and always had an outpouring love for those around her. She had a devotion to God and her family that was unparalleled.
Alice is survived by her husband, Arthur Miller, and her children, Christopher Miller, Kelly Miller, Patrick Miller and Deborah Miller-Stachler. Her legacy is also carried on through her 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A celebration will be held in honor of Alice’s life on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at 4 p.m. at the Rainbow Lakes Estates clubhouse. In lieu of cards and flowers, the family encourages everyone to make a donation in honor of Alice to the Alzheimer's Association at http://act.alz.org/goto/TeamAlice , as this was something that had impacted her life and her family that cherished her.
