Amy E. Summers

August 26, 1966 — September 14, 2021

Amy Elizabeth Kirkland Summers, 55, of Inglis Florida passed away September 14, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Amy was born in Ocala, Florida on August 26, 1966, to Kenneth and Martha (Morris) Kirkland. She attended Yankeetown school, graduated from Crystal River High School and went on to study at Central Florida Community College.  Amy married Timothy Summers on July 22, 2006. They were best friends and enjoyed many wonderful adventures together. She especially enjoyed the beach, traveling the roads on their Spider motorcycle through New England, and the north Georgia mountains. Amy also enjoyed the many times they spent together fishing at Saint George Island and the times together hunting, fishing, and just hanging out with friends and grandson Easton at their camp in the Hammock. She dearly loved the outdoors. They had fifteen wonderful and faithful years together. Amy worked at Inglis Town Hall as a clerk and later at Central Florida Electric Cooperative. She was also the managing associate at Inglis realty following the death of her stepfather, Archie Eiland. Though she worked in these capacities, she considered her highest calling to be that of wife, mother, and grandmother.

Amy is survived by husband, Tim Summers; her children, Cody Carver (Rachel), Danielle Carver Adams (James); her stepdaughters, Mandie Carver (Chris) and Krissy Guidry; her grandchildren, Easton B. Carver and Elvie J. Adams, Rylee Carver and Kailey Guidry and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her mother, Martha Morris Gibson and stepfather, Jack P. Gibson; her father, Kenneth C. Kirkland (Jeannie) and their daughter, Bethany Kirkland Johnson.

Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clyde and Ruth (Hawthorne) Kirkland, her maternal grandparents, Pete and Lucille (Brown) Morris and her stepfather, Archie G. Eiland.

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Inglis on September 18, 2021, with Brother Philip Thompson officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with service beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Cedars of Lebanon cemetery immediately following the service.
