Arnold G. Palmer, of Dunnellon Florida, passed away peacefully Monday, March 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.  Born January 15, 1936 in Gardner, Massachusetts he was the son of the late George and Edith (Nadeau) Palmer.

Arnold attended Narragansett Regional High School with the class of 1955, in Templeton Massachusetts.  He spent four years in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in England.  Arnold worked for GE in Fitchburg Massachusetts and retired there in the early 1980’s. While living up in Massachusetts Arnold loved going fishing in his boat off of Plum Island where he would spend a lot of his weekends.  After retirement, he moved to Florida where he spent most of the year and go up to Maine for the warmer months where he also had a home.  Eventually after he sold his home in Maine he would spend several months of the year visiting friends in the Netherlands, which he did right up until he became ill.  He enjoyed going to flea markets looking for those must have bargains.  He enjoyed spending afternoons at his local McDonald’s having his coffee, visiting with his many friends that gathered there.  If any of his friends or neighbors ever needed a helping hand he would be right there for them.

He leaves several nieces and nephews and many very good friends, all whom will miss him dearly.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Elaine (Palmer) Erickson Borey and Bernice (Palmer) Molinari and a brother Leonard Palmer.
