Arthur George Mandel Sr., went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 10, 2013. He was born October 7, 1927 in the Bronx, New York to the late George and Violet Mandel.
Mr. Mandel was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the United States Army National Guard in New York and retired from ConEdison Utility of New York after thirty six years of service.
Art made friends easily and was a great talker, He volunteered and belonged to many clubs in Rainbow Lakes Estates where he and Carla lived. One of his passions in life was playing his trumpet and sax. His other hobbies were his collection of model cars and “N” gauge railroads with a layout that he and Carla designed and created together.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Dorathea. Surviving family includes his loving wife of sixty years; two sons Arthur Jr. and his wife Randy of Prescott, Arizona and Marc and his wife Valerie of West Haven, Connecticut; two grandchildren Jaycelyn and Bryan Mandel of Arizona.
A memorial funeral service, celebrating the life of Arthur George Mandel Sr., will be conducted on Friday, October 18th, 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Rainbow Lakes Estates, 19756 SW Beach Boulevard. Pastor David Goodroe will officiate.
