Benita Listebarger

Velma "Benita" Listebarger (99) went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in her home at Harbor House at Ocala in Dunnellon, Florida. She was born on December 24, 1917 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Harold and Lucille Briney.

Benita is survived by sons, Larry Listebarger(Joanie), Bruce Listebarger (Vicki)), and Russell Listebarger (Daphne), daughter-in-law, Judy Listebarger, grandchildren, Valerie Lightfoot, Keith (Lorrie), Tanya Brown (Lamar), Tammy Abrams ( Mike), Kevin Listebarger (Faith),  Michelle Wiley (Johnny), Lynn Alton, Roger Listebarger ( Beverly), Jason Listebarger (Shannon), Kelly Irvin (Eric), Cassie Listebarger (Jonathan), Shannon Crenshaw (Chad), Brandi Ware, many great-grandchildren and great -great- grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Issac (Bud) Listebarger, sons, Elmer (Bud) Listebarger, Rowland Listebarger (Jerry), Thomas Listebarger and great-granddaughter, Heather.

Benita was a loving, caring, and gentle wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.  For many years she was a secretary for Joe Cobb's Realty in Dunnellon, Florida. Throughout her entire life she was an active and faithful Christian woman who became a preacher after attending Bible College in Los Angeles, California in the 1930s. At one time she even preached in a church with her mother. She always stayed involved with her church family.  In her later years she was a charter member of River Life Assembly of God Church in Dunnellon.  She enjoyed reading, especially her favorite book, the Bible.

A viewing for Benita will be held on Thursday, April 27,  2017 from 10:00 - 11:30 at Robert's Funeral Home, 19939 East Pennsylvania Ave, Dunnellon , Florida 34432, followed by a celebration of life service and then a graveside service at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers donations can be given to River Life Assembly of God, 2872 West Dunnellon Rd.,Dunnellon, Florida or Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Ave. Ocala, Florida 34474.
