Betty Catherine Bryant, born October 27, 1936, to Walter Burton Brown and Ottie Mae Johnson Brown, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Crafton “S.C.” Bryant Jr., with whom she shared a life filled with memories and adventure.
She is survived by her children: Michael Huey Sistrunk, Vicky Bryant Morrison, Samuel Crafton “Sammy” Bryant III and Tauna Bryant Fulford. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a treasured great-grandmother to seventeen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
In her later years, Betty shared a special and constant companionship with her beloved dog, Bingo. He was rarely out of her sight, sleeping faithfully under her bed each night and going everywhere she went. She cooked for him and would even feed him with a spoon if she felt he had not eaten enough.
Betty lived life fully and on her own terms. She loved the feel of the ocean breeze and was happiest at the beach or out on a boat. When she traveled, it was often to her favorite places — the Bahamas or a lively casino — where she enjoyed the excitement and fun.
One of Betty’s favorite pastimes was playing Bingo with her dear friends Verna, Bonnie, and Pam. Those friendships meant the world to her. After their passing, she set aside her Bingo cards and found a new pastime in football. She faithfully cheered for her favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Florida Gators, rarely missing a game.
As her great-grandchildren grew, Betty’s greatest joy became sitting in the stands and watching them play. Whether it was horse shows, softball, soccer, dance, or baseball, she showed up with pride and love. Being with her family was one of her greatest joys.
Betty will be remembered for her strength, her loyalty, her love of fun, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
