Betty Jean (Childs) Harrison
August 13, 1930 — October 16, 2015
Betty Jean Harrison, 85, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with her Lord on October 16, 2015. Born in Miami, she has resided in Ocala for the past 44 years. She had a strong faith in Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior as a child. She was a long-time member of Central Christian Church, Ocala, where she was actively involved for many years.
Betty retired from the Marion County Clerk’s office in 1994. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Gators. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Richardson, Jr., and her sister Mary Elizabeth Gloeckner.
She is survived by her loving husband Ray Harrison, daughter Gail Floener (Harry), and son Stephen Richardson (Coleen), and five grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Trinity Baptist Church, 1600 SE 58th Avenue, Ocala, with Rev. Richard Sego officiating. The family will receive friends from 10- AM until service time. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park.
