Betty Gale Storman, 79, of Crystal River, Florida, passed away on June 4, 2026, after a long struggle with cancer. Born July 2, 1946, to Ernest and Verona Lanier, Betty graduated from Dan McCarty High School in Ft Pierce, Florida. A fifth-generation Floridian, Betty grew up farming and selling fruit and vegetables at roadside stands across the state. Betty loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping from Lake Okeechobee to the Withlacoochee River and everywhere in between. She was an active member of Crystal River Church of God (Citrus Springs Campus). She was happiest entertaining family and friends on her back porch, especially when she prepared a big pot of lima beans. She made everyone she met feel welcomed, wanted, and loved. Whether you called her Mom, Momma, Mrs. Betty, Betty Gale, Aunt Betty Gale, or Granny, chances are you heard her speak about Jesus while sitting on her porch, in her Sunday School class, or on her church bus. She led dozens upon dozens to Christ; no doubt hundreds upon hundreds have sprung to eternal life from the ground she cultivated and planted.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Steve F. Storman Sr.; her son, Steve “Frank” Storman Jr.; her daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Nero; her grandson, Bruce Storman; her granddaughter Sierra Nero; her parents Ernest and Verona Lanier; her brothers Leroy Linson, John Linson, Audory Lanier, Earl Lanier, Marvin Lanier, Richard Eary; and her sisters, Ida (Linson) Bailey and Maple (Lanier) Hinkle. Betty is survived by her son, Russell (Rebekah) Storman; her brothers, Ordway Lanier and Randall Lanier; her grandson, Jared Nero; her granddaughters, Jessica Parker, Tina Storman, and Olivia Nero; nine great-grandchildren; and hundreds of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In accordance with her final wishes, a celebration of life will follow at Crystal River Church of God (Citrus Springs Campus).
