Bobby Gene Hardin went to be with Jesus on January 24, 2026. He was born on March 2, 1938, to Alton and LaVerne Hardin in Norman Park, Georgia. Bobby spent most of his young life traveling between Anthony, Florida and Omega, Georgia farming with his family. After graduating from Anthony High School in 1956, he became a General Contractor. In 1960, he married Carolyn Lott Hardin - his very best friend and love of his life. Their marriage created the most beautiful family who adored him and will forever keep his memory alive.

Bobby loved building quality custom built homes under his namesake Hardin Builders, and served as President of the Marion County Homebuilders Association. Every detail was important to him to ensure families had their dream home. He was then a proud partner of Foundation Services of Central Florida, with three wonderful, lifetime friends: Keith Seyler, Darryl Hampy, and Robert Stephenson. He was passionate about supporting his family and leaving a legacy behind, and he proudly worked every day until retiring this past April at 87 years old.

He had a heart for helping others. He was always willing to participate in a fundraiser, especially if it involved children, or helping his friends. His memberships include the Wacahoota Hunting Club, Bonita Club, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge #49, Ocala Shrine Club. He also proudly served in the Florida National Guard.

Bobby lived his faith by loving God and loving others, and he prayed for everyone. He never missed a family event, and he fiercely and publicly cheered them on and supported them in all endeavors. He will forever be remembered by his generous and caring heart, his deep love for his family, and his passion for Georgia football. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, riding in the woods with his red truck, and taking his airboat to the flats. Bobby was well known for sharing his life stories, songs, and jokes. He never met a stranger.

Bobby is predeceased by his parents, Alton and LaVerne Hardin; his son-in-law, David Tuck; and his daughter, Dana Tuck. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 65 years, Carolyn; daughter, Lori Hardin Stephens; grandchildren, Danielle (Craig) Hampy, Dustin (Ashlyne) Tuck, Hope Stephens, and Cole Stephens; great-grandchildren, Hayes and Charlotte Hampy, and Boone and Tate Tuck; sister, Ellene (Sidney) Stephenson; and countless extended family members and loyal friends.
