Carl P. Stevens was born on August 10, 1933 and passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 1st, 2024. Born in Pelham, Tennessee, he and his beloved wife Betty of 67 years would move to sunny Florida on the flip of a coin, where he would build his successful family business of C & S Roofing. He would become a pillar of his community, Dunnellon, FL, his church and most importantly his family. From the day he could walk to the day he passed he could always be found working. Whether this be laying shingles on a roof, raising cattle, tending to his farm, or piddling around the house. His loved ones will always remember and deeply miss his gift of story telling, his sense of humor, and his willingness to help others. 2nd Corinthians 9:7 states “ …so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” Carl Stevens lived these words and all those who knew and loved him will miss him deeply. His memory will be cherished by his brother Frank Stevens and sister in-law (Imogene) two sons and their wives, Danny (Belinda) and Robert (Jane); his five grandchildren, Becky Sillery, Danny Stevens Junior, Heather Roland, Robert Stevens II, and Rhiannon Ripple; and his seven great-grandchildren, Bella Sillery, Bryce Roland, Ava Roland, Russell George Sillery, Brody Roland, Mia Mangold, and Koryn Stevens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4 at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 5 at Hickory Springs Cemetery in Romeo.
