Carol M. Profy, M.D.

DR. CAROL M. PROFY, age 86, passed away January 31, 2012 in Ocala, FL.

She was born in New York City to August and Loretta (Polnick) Vouaux and lived her early years in Flushing, NY before moving to Dunnellon in 1994.

Dr. Profy received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College in New York and her medical doctorate from The Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania.  She was a pediatrician for 7 years in Flushing, NY before she ended her medical career to raise two sons.  After learning the art of film making, she was an award-winning amateur film maker.

After medical school she met and married Dr. Albert Profy, Sr. and was happily married for the next 45 years until his death in 2000.

Her hobbies included model railroads, traveling the U.S., and spending quality time with her family.

Survivors include sons Paul Profy, Dunnellon, FL; Albert Profy, Jr., Needham, MA; and granddaughter Katherine Profy, Needham, MA.

A committal service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
