Carol D. Thompson, 74, a resident of Inglis and devout Christian, went to be with her LORD, Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Legacy House Hospice in Ocala.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Inglis, where she was a member. Services will begin at 11:00am.
Ms. Thompson was a native of Ft. Lauderdale, the daughter of Mr. Lewis C. Davis Sr. and Mrs. Ruby I. Davis. A graduate of Ocala Senior High School and later Central Florida Community College, she studied accounting at the University of Florida, the field in which she worked until retirement.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Otis Daniels, Lewis C. Davis Jr., and Donald Y. Davis; a son, Christopher P. Thompson; and a grand-daughter, Tiffany Mae Thompson.
Ms. Thompson is survived by one brother, Joseph E. Davis of Titusville; her sister, Josephine D. Shantz of Inverness; a daughter, Elizabeth T. Cannon of Dunnellon; two sons, Robert L. Thompson Jr. and Phillip A. Thompson, both of Inglis; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She will be missed. Arrangements by Roberts Funeral Home 19939 E.
