Carolyn Harper, 80, of Ocala, FL, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014. She was born June 21, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to Donald McLean and Helen Kowalski. She moved to Ocala in 1993 from Long Island, NY. Mrs. Harper was a teacher’s aide, a seamstress, and a member of the Meadow Larks craft group. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). She is survived by her husband, Harold Harper, sons, Wayne Harper (Debbie) of Ocala, Daniel Harper of Edison, NJ, William "Billy" Harper of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, brother, Donald McLean of Ocala, sisters, Ellen Brown of Ocala, Pat McLean of Ocala, Helen MacDougall of Bohemia, NY, grandchildren, Capt. Thomas Harper, Lauren Grove (Schuyler), and Chrissy Harper. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Harper. A memorial mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:30am. Fr. Jean Desir will be officiating. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution in her name to Hospice of Marion County.
