Carolyn Elaine Lewis was born March 2, 1939 in the Bronx, NY to the late Josephine Smith McDermott and the late Melvin McDermott. She attended school there and married her childhood sweetheart Harry Lewis. The family relocated to Queens, NY where she lived most of her adult life. Her husband Harry was in the military, and she resided in a number of interesting places including Japan. After his retirement they enjoyed traveling to many places. Carolyn and Harry relocated to Ocala, FL in 1997. Harry was called home to eternal rest in September of 2009. Carolyn or as we called her “Sister”, leaves to cherish her memory: son, Harry Lewis, Jr. (Marion) of Queens, NY; daughter, Theresa Brown (Kevin) of Baltimore, MD; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; her sister, Maxine Williams (Clyde) of Valley Stream, NY; her sister-in-law, Pearl McDermott of Winston-Salem and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Rest in Peace and know that you are loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service is scheduled at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00AM.
