Cecile L. Harrison

Cecile L. Harrison, 95, died on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her residence in Dunnellon. She is survived by her husband of 72yrs., John Tyler Harrison,III, Dunnellon, FL; her sons, R. Michael Harrison, CA, Randolph T. Harrison, CA, John T. Harrison,IV, CA, James A. Harrison, FL; her daughter, Cecile Gilliland, MI; her twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Cecile is preceded in death by her brothers, Gerard Jaillet, Charles Jaillet and her sister Theresa O’Mara. Cecile was born and raised in Gardner, MA. She was the daughter to the late Henry J. and Hedwidge M. (Desmarais) Jaillet. Cecile met her husband Jack in Gardner along with her cat Prunella. About a year after they’ve been dating, Jack was shipped overseas to Scotland on the Queen Mary serving with the United States Army during WWII. She continued working at Heywood-Wakefield furniture factory in Garnder after it was converted into a bomb making facility. Cecile‘s love continued for her future husband as they became pen pals writing numerous letters to each other while he was overseas. When Jack returned home from the War they got married at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Gardner,MA on August 4, 1945. In 1952 they moved and made their home in California. In 1976 following Jack’s retirement they moved to Dunnellon. They were parishoners at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon and Cecile volunteered many hours working  at the Community Thrift Store on the corner of US Hwy 40 and 41 in Dunnellon. She had a wonderful life that created so many beautiful memories that will always be treasured forever in our hearts. We love you Mom, Grandma and look forward to seeing you again in that beautiful eternal city. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. In lieu flowers, Cecile’s family prefers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Marion County, West Team: P.O. Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
