Charles Pierce

Dunnellon, CHARLES W. PIERCE, JR., 86, died Friday, February 24, in Williston, FL.  Charles was born in Miami, FL and moved to Dunnellon in 1978 from Miami.

Charles was a WWII and Korean War veteran proudly serving with The U.S. Navy.  He was a member of The Dunnellon American Legion Post #58, AARP and a former member of The Miami VFW Post.  Charles enjoyed riding horses, fishing, collecting knives, die cast cars and Indian relics; was an avid John Wayne fan and enjoyed spending quality time with his Family.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, Dunnellon, Sons; Charles (Janie) Barrow, Salsbury, MA; Paul (Linda) Barrow, Dunnellon, FL; Dale (Michelle) Barrow, Miami, FL; daughters Althea (David) Baker, Lake City, FL; Rebecca (Dick) Thompson, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 20 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, March 16, at The Roberts Funeral Home with Chaplain Eugene Thomas officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at The Funeral Home.  Inurnment will follow at The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, with full military honors provided by The Spring Hill Marine Corp League Honor Guard.
