Cornelius Percy

Citrus Springs, FL and Formerly of East Hartford, CT- Cornelius Percy ,85, AKA- “Percy or Neal”,  died on September 18, 2022 while under the care of HPH Hospice in his home in Citrus Springs. He was born into this life on September 16, 1937 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and was the son to the late James Phillip and Rachel Lucky Percy. Cornelius moved to East Hartford, Connecticut in 1962 from the West Indies. While living in East Hartford he owned and operated Percy’s Automotive and was a member of the West Indian Club in Hartford. In 2002, Cornelius and his wife decided to move to Florida and made their home in Citrus Springs. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs. Percy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating.

He is preceded in death by his two sons, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Those left to cherish is memories are his wife of 39yrs, Madeleine Percy; his sons, Larry Percy, James Percy, Cornelius Percy, Jr. and  Clifford Knight; his daughters, Wendy Walls, Wayatt Bell “Mama”, Cheryl Perkins, and Makeda Pope; his sisters, Angela Hollens and Rita Ettienne; his nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life held on October 8, 2022 from 2-7pm at the West Indian Social Club: 3340 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06120.
