Daniel “Big Dan” Janson, Sr., 62, died suddenly on Monday, July 13, 2026 at his residence in Hernando, FL. He was born on December 24, 1963 in Lincoln Park, MI and was the son to the late Ronald A. and Jeanette (Gasch) Janson. Daniel was raised in Michigan until the age of fifteen when his family moved to Ocala, FL where he graduated from Vanguard High School. Big Dan was a self- contracted Telephone Cable Splicer most of his adult life. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing and the outdoors. He was a simple man who enjoyed life and a good meal.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 44yrs., Cynthia Janson, Hernando, Fl; his son, Daniel Janson, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, Ocala, Fl, and his daughter, Sarah Barry and her husband, Matthew, Ocala, Fl; his brother, David A. Janson and his husband, Michael Thrift, Jacksonville Beach, Fl, and his two sisters, Linda Cox and her husband, Jim, Portidge, MI, and Linda Baker and her husband, Steve, Taylor, MI; his four grandsons, Dakota Barry, Kole Barry, Wyatt Janson, and Morgan Janson.

Memorial Services celebrating Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon.
