David Andrew Mckendrick

David A. McKendrick, 88, peacefully passed away on December 24, 2015 at the Ted & Diane Brandley Hospice House in Summerfield, FL.
He was born on March 28, 1927 in Blue Point, NY, son of David P. and Annie McKendrick. On July 10, 1948 he married his sweetheart, Miriam Halliwell from Patchogue, NY.
Dave was a carpenter by trade and after 40 years he retired from Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, NY.
In 1992 Dave and Miriam moved to Edgewater, Fl where they resided for 17 years. During that time he received a coveted community award for building ramps for those in need, giving lessons and operating the Carpentry Shop on site. He was an avid tennis player receiving many awards, organizing leagues and playing actively into his 60's.
In August 2008 Dave was predeceased by his loving wife, Miriam of 60 years and January 2014, his younger brother John McKendrick.
Dave was a kind and devoted family man and is survived by 5 daughters & son-in-laws: Patricia Ann & Bernie Theobald of Dunnellon, FL, Judith Lynne McKendrick of Ocala, Fl, Cynthia Adele & Mike Amodio of Patchogue, NY, Roberta Margaret & JC Reale of Homosassa, Fl, Katherine Elizabeth & Joe Sophabmixay of Taylor, PA: 10 grandchildren: 6 great grandchildren and his loving brother George McKendrick of Deland, Fl.
