Dominic Carmen Pugliese passed away Friday July 3 at the age of 82, at his home in Rainbow Lakes Estates surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Paterson, New Jersey on July 16, 1932, he moved to Dunnellon in July 1969. He was a master carpenter and contractor but enjoyed his retirement traveling and spending time with his family.
Dominic was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, and will be buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell. He enjoyed sports (especially the NY Yankees and Florida Gators), crossword puzzles and Facebook. But his biggest joy was his family and the many trips they took, including two to Italy, several cross-country trips and numerous trips to the Smokey Mountains.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Josephine, his three children, Dominic Jr. of Stuart, Florida, Audrey Beem (Russell), of Dunnellon and Robert of Tampa, Florida. Dominic also had four granddaughters, Amanda, Alicia, Victoria and Alexandra, and three great-grandchildren, Dominique, James and Joseph.
Viewing will take place at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon on Wednesday, July 8th, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
