Donald Meczywor, 79, died on June 25, 2013 at his residence in Dunnellon, FL. He entered this life on September 22, 1933 in Adams, MA to the late Francis and Josephine (Zoltek) Meczywor.
Donald grew up in Adams, MA where he graduated from Adams Memorial High School class of 1951. After graduation he enlisted with the US Navy serving our country proudly until 1955. He worked for Berkshire Fine Spinning Mills until he decided to go back to school enrolling in Coyne Electrical School in Boston, MA graduating in 1958.
The following year Donald married the love of his life Joan. They raised their family in Adams in where they were communicants of St. Stanislaw Catholic Church. He started his career working for Massachusetts Electric as a Lineman up until his retirement. Following retirement Donald and Joan decided to move to Florida thirteen years ago. He enjoyed fishing and had a green thumb gardening raising plants from seedling. He was a member of the American Legion Post#58 in Dunnellon.
Donald is preceded in death by his brother Frank Marshall.
Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Joan Meczywor, Dunnellon, FL; his son Lee Meczywor, Dunnellon, FL; his daughters, Kim Missick, Ocala, FL and Karen Rose, Cheshire, MA; his five grandchildren, Kelsey Naylor, Meghan Rose, Tyler Meczywor, Hannah Rose and Jesse Meczywor.
Memorial Services celebrating Donald’s life will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon with Father Kevin MacGabhann officiating.
