Donald F. Scribner, 82 of Dunnellon, FL left this earth peacefully at home with his wife Denise and son-in-law Patrick by his side.
Don was born at his family home on Umpawaug Hill Road in Redding, CT. He was the son of Dorothy (Banks) and Strong Stanley Scribner.
Don was raised in Bridgewater, CT. He attended Burnham School for elementary school, then went to Henry Abott Technical School for carpentry. Shortly after graduation, he moved to New Milford, CT to raise his two daughters. He worked for Kimberly Clark in New Milford for 17 years. He also did roofing & carpentry as side work.
In 1980 he moved to Dunedin, FL. He worked at Dynamic Chassis Replica Cars building kit kars. He then sold travel trailers for Jayco in Clearwater, FL. He eventually turned one of his favorite passions into a business - starting his own company – Don Scribner Painting & Contractor. Don was an incredibly talented craftsman.
On September 25, 1982 he married Denise DeFonce. They resided in Safety Harbor, FL for 27 years. Don enjoyed spending his time with Denise, family and friends, boating, crafting, wood working, traveling, and RV camping. Upon retirement they moved to Dunnellon, FL where they designed and built their home on 5 acres of land. Don took great pride in spending his days working on his homestead.
Don was very civic oriented. He was President of Civitan Club - helping handicapped children worldwide. He was also President of Paint Your Heart Out Safety Harbor-an organization serving the underprivileged.
Don was loved by all who met him. He was very generous with his time – helping anyone in need at a moment’s notice. Sometimes the lucky recipient didn’t even know until after Don had completed his project. Don never expected anything in return for his generosity.

Marsh (David Pechaski) of Warren, CT, Grandson Chad Beatty (Kelly) of Sherman, CT, Great Granddaughters Peyton and Sutton Beatty, his brother Robert Scribner (Linda) of New Milford, CT and many nieces and nephews.
