Dora Rebecca (Tompkins) Bennett

Dora Rebecca Bennett, 85 of Citrus Springs, FL passed away on July 9, 2013 in Lecanto, FL after a brief stay at Hospice House of Citrus County. She was born to Eli Bonaparte and Chloe Belle Smith Tompkins on July 11, 1927 in London, Kentucky one of eleven children and went on to marry Louis E. Bennett, Sr. with whom she raised four children in Brownsville, Indiana.
She retired from Dana Perfect Circle Corporation after 30 years. Her favorite pastimes were golfing and gardening and she initiated flower gardens on Liberty Country Club, which are still maintained by volunteers at this time. The highlight of her golfing experience was a Hole In One at the Brick Yard #4.
In her retirement years, Dora spent six months of the year in Indiana and six months in Citrus Springs with her loving companion of 39 years, Glade T. Montgomery who was a golf pro at the Liberty Country Club.
Dora is survived by her four children; Eddie Bennett of Licking, MO, Carol Scarpone of Eustis, FL, Charlie Bennett of Richmond, IN, and Barbara Bennett of Hampton, GA, plus 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held in Liberty, Indiana at a later date.
