On July 12, 2015, Doreen Smallwood Kraiker passed away of natural causes.
She was born in Toronto, Ontario, in 1938, and emigrated to the USA at the age of 19, where she took up residence in St. Petersburg. She moved to southern Levy County in 1972 when her husband (James, now deceased) took a position at the Florida Power Nuclear Plant. Ms. Kraiker was an attendee of the Lighthouse Word Church in Chiefland.
She is survived by her second husband, Barry Barnett (Dunnellon); her stepsister, Sally Rogers of Guelph, Ontario, Canada; and two sons — the younger son, Alan Kraiker resides in Gainesville. Her older son David Kraiker, her daughter-in-law Erminia DeJesus and two granddaughters, Sophia and Natalia Kraiker — all reside in South Orange, New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon.
