Doris Carolyn (Mcvey) Howell

Doris C. Howell, 92, died on Monday, March 25, 2024 in Crystal River, FL. She was born into this life on February 25, 1932 in St. Petersburg, FL and was the daughter to the late, Guy McVey and Thelma Louise (Holmes) McVey. Doris moved with her late husband, Walter to Dunnellon in 1982 from St. Petersburg.  She was a member of the Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon. Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading, but most importantly, spending time with her family. Doris was a lady of faith who placed her trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is now re-united with all of her loved ones who preceded her and her husband, Walter Howell. Doris will be forever remembered as a gentle loving soul, and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Willis Howell ( Bette ), Dunnellon, FL, Larry Howell ( Susan – Deceased ), Seminole, FL, and Kathleen Slater ( William - Deceased ), Dunnellon, FL; her brother, John W. ( Jack ) McVey    ( Blanche ) and her sister, Betty Chatham ( Ian – Deceased ); her four grandchildren, Kelly Howell, Ryan Howell, Loretta Gwaltney, Amanda Ibranovic and her five great grandchildren, Joshua, Aidan, Madison, Selma and Haris.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Roberts Funeral Home. The family will be receiving relatives and friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
