Doris A. Peterson

DORIS A. PETERSON, of Dunnellon, age 71, passed away February 1, 2012 in Dunnellon, FL.  She was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada to Stewart McLaughlin and Bernice (Russell).  Mrs. Peterson was manager of a convenient service station and a sales clerk for 20 years at Sears in Morris, Illinois.

She moved to Dunnellon in 2000 from Morris, Illinois.She enjoyed sports, golf, camping, traveling, kayaking on the Rainbow River, and performing with her dance group at local nursing homes.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and cherished the time spent with her family.Mrs. Peterson was a member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church and the Moose Lodge of Dunnellon.

Survivors include her husband Richard of Dunnellon; son Roy A. Daugherty (Annabelle), Dunnellon; Daughter Donna Elzer, Brookfield, IL; Brother Terry (Sharon) McLaughlin, Pembrook, Ontario, Canada and 10 grandchildren, three niece, and one nephew.   She was predeceased by her first husband Charles Daugherty in 1975.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Holy Faith Episcopal Church, Dunnellon, with Father James Gerhart officiating.
