Douglas B. Poole, 68, Dunnellon, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Ocala, Florida. He was born and raised in Stamford, CT and retired from General Dynamics Electric Boat with 33 years of service. He retired in 1999 and moved to Dunnellon, FL in 2010 from North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of The American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, restoration projects and spending quality time with his Family and Friends.
Survivors include his Wife: Elizabeth Tilley-Poole, Dunnellon, FL; Sons: Marshall E. Poole, North Kingstown, RI and Michael D. Poole, New York, NY; Daughter: Monica D. Poole, North Kingstown, RI; Brother: Roger Poole, Clear Lake, IA; Sister: Nancy (Bob) Carey, Fortuna, CA. He was predeceased by his parents Foy and Mildred Poole and his sister-in-law, Evelyn Sue Poole.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, October 19, 2012 at The Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822 with Rev. Bill Tilley officiating with full military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
