Dwijraj Persaud Bahadur

Dwijraj Bahadur from Cumberland Village, Guyana passed on September 25, 2017 in Ocala, Florida at the age of 68. He previously lived in Jersey City, New Jersey and served as a Registered Nurse (RN) at New Amsterdam Hospital and Jersey City Medical Center for over 40 years.

He was the son of Phulmatie and Lal Bahadur, and the brother of deceased siblings Banjan, Rhagnauth (Puntoon), Jagnarine (Thomas), Dharampaul (Paul) and Romewatie (Baba). Survived by brother Mahendra and sister Somewatie (Izo).

Dwijraj was married to Evelyn Bhagoo, also Registered Nurse (RN) at New Amsterdam Hospital and Jersey City Medical Center for 47 years. Father of daughters Neushanny, Tomeela, Shelly, and Dhaneesha. Grandfather of Raja, Neelima, Anaya and Aiden. Father-in-law of Abhishake Tyagi, Anil Gupta and Javed Kalaam. Uncle of 34 nephews and nieces.

Dwijraj lived a life of love, compassion, strength, and regality. A patriarch to the family, he led an example of unity that will reign in his legacy. His children will keep his fire burning ever so brightly, and his jovial yet dignified presence will forever be remembered and cherished. “The soul is eternal, imperishable and timeless.”
