Ed built a successful career as a salesman with NCR before establishing his own cash register sales and service business, providing personalized service throughout southeastern Massachusetts. His dedication to his work and his customers earned him a stellar reputation in the industry.
Ed married Lucille Laferrière, and together they raised six children, Paul Lagasse (Gloria), Henri Lagasse (Deb), Donald Lagasse, Anne Morelli (Bob), Catherine Berlo (Paul), and Joan Dyer (Jay). Later, he married Mary, and they shared many happy years until her passing in 2018. In his later years, he found companionship and joy with his dear friend, Janet Salfisburg.

Known for his quick wit, infectious humor, and kind spirit, Ed had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him. Whether sharing a joke, offering words of encouragement, or engaging in a lively conversation, he had a warmth that left a lasting impact. A lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, he was always ready to discuss the team’s prospects and talent. In his later years, he was an avid golfer, enjoying countless rounds on the green with friends and family.
Ed’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at the E.W. & Lucille Cates House in Ocala for the exceptional care he received. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s honor may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
He was a delight to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
