Edward I. Booth

January 16, 1934 — February 14, 2021

Edward Booth, 87, died on February 14, 2021 at Advent Health in Ocala, FL. He was born in Waterbury, CT and raised in Watertown,CT. Ed answered the call of duty while in high school and enlisted with the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division and was stationed in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky from 1954-1961 during the Korean Conflict. He got out of the military to help his father who was sick, run the dairy farm in Watertown,CT. In 1981 he met his wife, Marcia and then got married in 1985 in the Congregational church in  Oakville, CT. Marcia and Ed traveled the country in his 18 wheeler,  when he drove for teamsters and hauled for New Penn., and then became independent and leased to CLT Trucking up until his retirement.  He and Marcia lived in Ft. Myers, FL and Lehigh Acres for many years before relocating to Morriston and then Dunnellon in 2013. Ed was a member of the AmVets of Inglis, and the Elks Club in Waterbury, CT. He enjoyed playing bingo,  working on anything mechanical and farming. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

Ed is preceded in death by his son, Edward Booth, Jr.; his two sisters, Ruth and Faye and his step-daughter.

He leaves behind his wife, Marcia Booth, Dunnellon; his daughters, Debra Labeck and her husband, Tim of Oakville, CT, Christina Maynard of Delphi, NY; his brother, Nathan Booth, Jr. and his wife, Trudy of Bomoseen, VT; his four grandchildren; his three stepsons; his seven step-grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service honoring Ed’s life will be held at a later date.
