Our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend went peacefully home to be with Jesus on November 15, 2016.
Ed was born in Yonkers, NY, in 1936 and his family moved to the Tampa Bay area when he was a boy. A lifelong Catholic, he graduated from Jesuit High School. Ed enjoyed a simple life in the country after retiring from Florida Power Corporation in the late 90’s. A loving and devoted father, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was known for his world famous spaghetti sauce and his wry sense of humor. He was an expert handyman who could fix or build anything, including the home he built from the ground up in Dunnellon, Florida over twenty-five years ago, where he lived with his wife and son Tom until his passing.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of nearly forty-five years, Treva Fortson Brown; his children, Patricia Birchfield (George), Donna Carpenter (Winston), Jennifer Caskey (Jack), “Hank” Haynes (Lisa), William Brown, Michael “Tom” Haynes; his grandchildren, Caysie Romano, Michael Caskey, Sarah Birchfield, Krystal Brown, Laura Birchfield, Hollie Haynes, Jared Haynes; his sister, Lois Mueninghoff(Les), Mary Elizabeth Warfel (Leary); five great grandchildren, and many good friends.
He is preceded in death by parents, Mabel and Robert Brown, brother, Robert Brown, sister, Doris Conners, son, Edward Brown, Jr., grandsons, Christopher Caskey and Jordan Carpenter.
“Go rest high on that mountain son, your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a-shoutin’ Love for the Father and the Son”
He will be greatly missed.
