Rainbow Springs, Florida- Edward L. Nettleton, II, 88, died on December 6th, 2013 in Ocala, Fl. He was born December 9th, 1924 to the late Kenneth and Eleanor (Fry) Nettleton in New Haven, Ct.
Edward grew up in New Haven, Ct and attended grade school in Wallingford, Ct (Choate High School) and also a graduate of Yale University class of 1950 and the University of New Haven, 1979 MBA. Mr Nettleton and his wife Jeanette moved to Dunnellon in 1993 from Cheshire Ct after retiring from Pioneer Parachute in Windsor Locks, Ct as an electrical Engineer. He was instrumental in developing the navigational system for the Lunar Excursion Module which landed on the moon in 1969. He served our country proudly with the US Army during WWII in which he served in George Patton’s third Army in Normandy and in England. Edward was a member of the IEEE and the Yale University Alumni Association.
He is preceded in death by his half- brother, John Nettleton.
His survivors include his wife of sixty three years, Jeanette Nettleton, Dunnellon, FL; his children, Edward Lee Nettleton, III, Orange, Ct, Eleanor G. Nettleton, East Hampton, Ct and two grandchildren and one great grandchild. We love you and we will miss you until we meet again.
