Eileen D. (Brown) Kershaw
January 10, 1921 – February 14, 2011
Eileen D. (Brown) Kershaw passed away February 14, 2011 at the Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River, Florida, with her grandson, Todd, by her side.
Eileen was born in Haverhill, Ma. daughter of the late Delpha  (White) &  Charles Brown on January 10, 1921, she was raised in Haverhill Ma.  She raised her children in Danville and Manchester NH with husband of 50 years, Arthur W. Kershaw who died in February 1990. They retired to Port Orange, Florida in 1979 where they made their home until his passing.  She than lived with her daughter Margaret (Peggy) and husband Franklin McIntyre in Port Orange, Florida for several years  After which she moved to a senior citizen apartment in Daytona Beach.
Eileen had been a resident of the Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River, Florida near her daughter Barbara and son in law Nelson for the past year after taking a fall and breaking her hip. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday.
In her younger years Eileen enjoyed the beach, her camper, bowling, & golfing.  She loved   all types of crafts.  She was an avid fan and loved   watching the Bruins & the Red Sox.  She loved Bingo and was always very lucky in winning at it along with scratch tickets! She loved to do crossword puzzles and always loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She worked at the Custeau’s Supermarket in East Hampstead, NH for many years until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents and husband as well as her son William A.  Kershaw who died in 1962 and a daughter, Janice Kershaw Hunt who died in 1980 of cancer. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Arnold & her husband , Nelson of Ingles, Florida and Margaret (Peggy) McIntyre & her husband, Frank, of Epping , NH. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by 2 sisters, Bertha Deblois of Florida, Patricia Garland of Northwood N.H. and one brother, Robert Brown of Florida. She was predeceased by 2 sisters,    Merlene Hickey of Haverhill, Ma. & Grace Law of Florida.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Brown of Florida and Charles Brown of Haverhill, MA.
“Nana” will be missed by so many and had many wonderful friends as well.  She is truly in a better place and is with the love of her life and her two children dancing in heaven.
A memorial service will be held in Yankeetown Florida on Friday February 18,2011 at the Yankeetown Community Church and a celebration of life service will be held at The Edward C Garvey Recreational Facility, Sandown, N.H. (date and time to be announced) All are welcome to attend and share a memory of “Nana”.
