Eleanor "Ellen" (Mcilvaine) Johnson

Eleanor “Ellen” Johnson, 69, passed away on January 4, 2021.  She was the wife of Jim Johnson.  They shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of William McIlvaine and Mary Francis Knight.  She graduated from the University of Miami in Sociology.

She was a member of Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday school class.  She was an active in her community as a volunteer.  Ellen worked at Independence High School as a teacher assistant as well as in the clinic. She loved being around the students as she tended to cuts, fevers and dispensing their medications. she made a lot of good friends at Independence and, after retiring, organized after work gatherings at the Olde Blind Dog Irish pub where everyone could keep in touch.

Ellen is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert McIlvaine.  She is survived by her husband, her brother Richard McIlvaine, her sister Rebecca McIlvaine, her daughters and their husbands Christy Burnham and Matt, Jennifer Orr and Chris and Beth Dion and Jeff, and her grandchildren Avery (11), Paul (11), Caitlin (8), Loftin (8) and Emilia (4). She also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.

Her celebration of life service will be at Northbrook United Methodist Church on Monday, January 11 at 2pm.  A live stream video will be available for those who want to watch safely at home. Her graveside service will be at Fellowship Baptist Church in Fellowship, Florida on January 14th at 1pm

Flowers can be sent to Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon, Florida.  Donations also can be made to Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia or First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon, Florida.
